Located in the upper reaches of a small, characteristic village on the outskirts of Paris, between Montmorency and St-Leu-la Forêt, our small hotel is the only commerce in the village.

One could almost believe that the hotel is somewhat remote, set against the backdrop of Montmorency forest and looking down onto Paris far below. Nevertheless, we are in very easy reach via the A115 and A15 motorways or the N104 "Francilienne" outer ring road.

Midway between a guest house and a hotel, our guests consider us to be a little out of the ordinary and love to come back here. Some of our business traveller guests have been coming here for over 10 years now. What they invariably tell us is that they are made to feel at home at "Le Prieuré", welcomed as friends rather than as customers.

The Val d’Oise département provides a variety of awayday opportunities, places to visit including Auvers sur Oise and L’Isle Adam, Royaumont Abbey and the 2 delightful châteaux of Chantilly and Ecouen. Slightly further afield, discover the Vexin regional nature park or the delights of La Roche Guyon and Giverny. The delightful charm of the hotel is not only delivered by the bedrooms; our restaurant also plays a key role. Yves Farouz, former International Chef, Chef to the Presidents (Giscard d’Estaing in 1977) and Executive Chef on several cruise ships, proposes a range of tasty, original dishes made with the finest produce: Black Hog of Bigorre, wafer-thin Black pig ham, truffles, lobster, etc…

An exceptional wine cellar

Although cooking is Chef Yves Farouz's profession, wine is his greatest passion. He takes great care in choosing each winemaker, then each wine, and has drawn up a list containing some 300 different wines, with a particular preference for those produced using biodynamic and integrated farming methods. We are listed as an "exceptional wine cellar" in the Gault & Millau guide, and as one of the "best French cellar masters" in the Omnivore Food Book.
